AIɫɫ’s Class of 2025 graduating class in the Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program has received a 100% pass rate on their clinical board examinations, program faculty announced.
“I am so proud of our six graduates,” said Jean McGlone, SSU’s MLT Program Director. “Each of them managed to juggle jobs, school, and busy lives while taking on a tough program that packs an enormous amount of learning and technical skills into a short amount of time.”
MLT students in the Class of 2025 took the ASCP Board of Certification Exam which has credentialed more than 635,000 medical laboratory professionals in the past century. The exam board focuses on how medical laboratory professionals can provide patient care through knowledge, collaboration, and global community.
“They met every challenge with energy, positivity, and excitement for what they were learning and I’m confident they’ll bring the same into their professional practice,” said McGlone.
SSU’s Medical Laboratory Technology program is a five-semester program that prepares students for a career as a Medical Laboratory Technician. Technicians work as the science and chemistry behind patient blood work and laboratory testing to allow practitioners to make diagnoses, make therapeutic decisions, and to monitor patient health and wellness. Focused on cognitive thinking skills, proficiency in laboratory skills, and best laboratory practices, the coursework sets students up to be well-educated, proficient, and prepared employees.
“The Class of 2025 embraced the review methods put in place to prepare them for their certification exam,” said Andrea Zaph, SSU’s MLT Program Clinical Coordinator. “Each and every one of them put forth extra effort to ensure their success. They are now reaping the rewards of their hard work. I could not be prouder of them.”
Entering an in-demand field, SSU MLT graduates are prepared to work in a variety of clinical settings and their training prepares them to impact patient lives from day one on the job.
