Members of AIɫɫ’s sorority Delta Phi Epsilon (DPhiE) recently attended their organization’s ElevateU conference in Pittsburgh, PA. Connecting with members of other chapters across the nation, the students were able to bring back ideas and initiatives for their own chapter on campus.

“The conference had a huge focus on sisterhood, strengthening chapter operations, and deepening our connection to our values and community,” said Morgan Salisbury, President of the DPhiE chapter on SSU’s campus. “One of my favorite parts was getting to participate in the interactive workshops and meeting other members of DPhiE from other chapters.”

A junior on campus, Salisbury enjoys being able to connect with her sisters through the organization and making memories on campus. Attending ElevateU, she saw the conference as a time to further her connection with her own chapter members while reconnecting to the organization and its mission as a whole.

“It isn’t very often that we get to connect with members from other chapters, so getting an opportunity to speak with them and share ideas is always beneficial,” she said. “This was also an opportunity to take time to remember why we are all in Delta Phi Epsilon by connecting with our roots and seeing how far we have come.”

Being a leader on campus as part of DPhiE, Salisbury has seen the benefits of joining an organization that offers her not only a community at SSU, but also a community for life.

“Since joining Delta Phi Epsilon, I have made friendships that will last a lifetime and have met the most amazing people,” she said. “Everyone brings something so unique to our sorority that makes us whole, and these girls really know how to light up a room. I am so thankful for all of them.”
