A native of South Webster, Ohio, Brady Blizzard always knew he wanted to work in health care. Finding a career path that allowed him to be actively involved in several levels of care in a patient’s experience, he is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at AIɫɫ.
“There are also so many different types of Nursing that can be practiced,” he said.
Originally choosing to attend SSU after high school for the small campus environment, Blizzard is grateful for how his connections with his classmates and faculty members are shaping his future.
“I'm so happy I chose to stay local and meet so many amazing people who really care about my success as a student,” he said.
The BSN program at SSU gives students a competitive edge in the health care field. The program prepares students to confront the changes in science, technology and nature, and settings of nursing practice.
“The BSN program will better equip me with the tools I will need to confidently step into a future management role or further my education in a master's level program if I wish to,” said Blizzard.
Focusing on his studies and preparing for a future in the in-demand field, Blizzard is already looking towards what his preferred area of nursing practice will be.
“After I graduate, I hope to work in critical care to gain experience for any future plans I may develop,” he said.
The SSU School of Nursing offers several pathways to preparing nurses to enter the workforce, including the Associate Degree of Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and an online Master of Science in Nursing.
